Berkeley seeks a full time IT Support Specialist for the 2016-17 school year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Maintain a positive, professional rapport with students, parents, and faculty/staff; be helpful to all in need of assistance
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot OS X, Windows, iOS and Android devices for students and faculty/staff
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot peripherals, including printers, scanners, and audio/visual equipment
  • Coordinate service and support of devices with third party vendors
  • Document status and resolution of user issues using the department’s ticketing system
  • Provide set up and support for academic events and performances
  • Scrupulously respect privacy and confidentiality
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical people
  • Recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and systematic manner
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A+ certification
  • Experience supporting OS X, Windows, and iOS devices
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and education focused applications
  • Experience supporting wireless networking
  • Highly motivated self-starter, collaborative and collegial
  • Ability to understand when problem escalation is appropriate
  • Ability to climb a ladder to service classroom equipment and the ability to lift 30 lbs.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

  • Experience working in an academic environment
  • OS X Apple Certified Support Professional
  • Apple Certified Mac Technician
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory concepts and applications
  • Working knowledge of Casper Mobile Device Management
  • Working knowledge of VOIP phone systems
