The Opportunity:  

Branksome Hall is seeking an IT Support Technician with strong communication skills and a proven ability to provide courteous, rapid and effective hardware and software technical support to the Branksome Community. The successful candidate will join the IT Support team and report directly to the IT Support Supervisor.  

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:   

  • Provide IT support across the campus related to software and hardware issues onsite, walk-ins, and over the phone;  

  • Collaborate with the community and provide technical feedback and concepts in a user-friendly manner  

  • Respond to support tickets promptly through the in-house ticketing system  

  • Assist the IT Team with imaging of computers and managing software deployments;  

  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of computer devices, classroom A/V, printers;  

  • Refer to the IT documentation, and update accordingly when necessary;  

  • Ability to lift and move computers, peripherals and audio/video equipment as required;  

  • Assist with set up and manage audio/video and multimedia equipment for school events;  

  • Provide back-up support to other members of the IT department when requested;   

Required Qualifications and Technical Experience:   

  • Strong understanding and knowledge in troubleshooting technical problems  

  • University or college degree in the field of computer science and/or relevant work experience, up to two years is an asset;  

  • Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation;  

  • Strong written and oral communication skills;  

  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to take initiative;  

  • Willingness to learn new and emerging technologies to meet evolving school needs;  

  • Technical skill set covering Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Windows Server & BYOD environments  

  • Experience with deploying and managing Windows 10, macOS, iOS, and Chrome OS clients  

  • Highly knowledgeable with G Suite and Microsoft Office  

  • Setup of A/V equipment and understanding of A/V software is an asset;  

  • A+ Certification and/or home lab is an asset.
