Part-time, 12-month position

Brooklyn Heights Montessori School is seeking an IT Support Specialist starting immediately. Brooklyn Heights Montessori School offers a challenging and comprehensive curriculum built on the philosophy of Maria Montessori to children aged two years through eighth grade. Students work and learn in mixed-age classes led by teaching teams of thoughtful and well-trained professionals. The students have exposure to a full range of academic and artistic courses. BHMS also offers an after school program and a summer day camp. The School is housed in a beautiful facility in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn and is ideally located for convenient access to all parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

  • Working as part of a nimble and supportive team to ensure the successful integration, usage, and continued functioning of technology at the school 

  • Supporting employee and student use of technology in a fast-paced academic environment

  • Assisting employees and students on a variety of hardware and software issues

  • Responding to tech support tickets, telephone calls, email, and in person requests for technical support

  • Troubleshooting basic networking issues

  • Supporting and troubleshooting Audio/Video equipment across campus

  • Seeking out and participating in professional growth opportunities embracing a growth mindset

Salary is competitive and based on experience and qualifications.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related discipline 

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting technology 

  • Passion for technology and dedication to staying current in the field 

  • Apple certified technician, A+ IT Professional preferred 

  • Expert knowledge and experience in configuration and troubleshooting of computer hardware and operating systems including MacOS, Chrome OS, and iOS 

  • Expert in G Suite cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools

  • Strong Audio/Visual support required 

  • Familiarity with the following technologies preferred: Chromebook management, G Suite administration, Cisco Meraki, Addigy MDM, SSO 

  • Ability to communicate in a friendly, professional, and timely manner with students, faculty, staff and parents 

  • Excellent time management skills
