The Greenwich Country Day School has an August 29, 2016 opening for an entry level IT Support Technician. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the IT Support Technician will provide technical support for all academic and administrative departments. This is a full­time, year round position with entry level compensation and a comprehensive benefit package.

The ideal candidate will be self­motivated with a commitment to quality and to following procedures and policies. Additionally, the candidate must possess strong customer service skills, a sense of urgency and resolve, and sensitivity to the various needs and abilities of users.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide warm welcome and assistance to all visitors to the Technology Department
  • Provide accurate and timely communication, internally with students, faculty and staff, and externally w/vendors and parents
  • Provide phone coverage and respond to email inquiries within a 24 hour period
  • Trouble-shooting of tech issues with students, faculty and staff
  • Act as helpdesk resource to provide technical support to all administration, faculty, staff, and students
  • Expand, update, and maintain the school's inventory of hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot problems relating to hardware and software, including IP phones
  • Troubleshooting audio/video systems ­TV, LCD, Projector, Smartboards and sound in classroom setting
  • Provide support for school hosted events including presentations by Guest Speakers, Faculty, Students and Parents
  • Maintain and troubleshoot printers and copiers and aid with ordering supplies
  • Participate in other relevant technology projects, trainings, and meetings as a member of the Information and Innovation Team
  • Provide research support and recommendations to aid in the requisition of hardware, software and related resources
  • Assist in Technology integration, working with teachers on incorporating technology in the classroom
  • Assist in creating learning resources for faculty, staff and students. These may include websites, tutorials, interactive programs and databases that support the faculty and students in integrating technology
  • Attend conferences, workshops, seminars and other events in order to stay current with current and emerging technologies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently, see tasks through to completion, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Enthusiasm for interacting with adolescent students and faculty
  • Entry level computer and network skills
  • Entry level experience with FileMaker and Google Apps a plus
  • Professional, personable demeanor coupled with a sense of humor
  • Technical certifications a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus
