The IT Support Technologist provides front-line technical support and training to the Appleby College community. The essential accountabilities are:

  • Respond to technical issues, perform troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and implement appropriate solutions to maintain business continuity

  • Document, track and report on incoming queries via ticketing system to ensure all issues are resolved or escalated in a timely manner

  • Install, configure and maintain various applications, systems and equipment necessary for both academic and operational functions

  • Conduct technical needs analysis, research available technologies and best practices and present business solutions that meet the needs of users, department and organization

  • Conduct training for end-users i.e. one-to-one, small groups, and large faculty/class groups to further enhance technical skillset and develop awareness of available resources that can improve task efficiency and productivity

  • Work individually and collaboratively with IT team and other internal partners in the planning and implementation of new technologies and processes that align with Appleby’s Vision and Mission

  • Ensure IT policies and procedures regarding usage, security and standards are adhered to protect Appleby, staff, students and partners

  • Provide occasional technical support for events and programs held on evenings and weekends



  • Post-secondary education specializing in a technology related field is required

  • Experience using a call tracking or ticketing system is preferred

  • Experience supporting end users with Microsoft and Apple operating systems and applications is preferred

  • Knowledge of Desktop Imaging Solutions and MS InTune is preferred
