Position Overview

The IT Systems Support Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the school’s academic and administrative activities by administering and maintaining a range of systems and providing excellent technical support service to students, faculty, and staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve service requests in person, by telephone, and via help desk.

  • Effectively prioritize and escalate service requests to minimize end-user interruption.

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot various hardware and software systems: Computing, Telecommunications, Audio/Visual, Printing and others.

  • Maintain timely and accurate records in help desk ticketing system.

  • Author knowledge-base articles and other end-user documentation.

  • Provide one-on-one training on end-user devices, software, and audio/visual equipment.

  • Manage user accounts and access for Active Directory/Exchange/Skype for Business, Office 365, Google Apps, OneLogin and the Collegiate wireless network.

  • Configure and manage end-user devices using JAMF, GSuite, SCCM and/or other management platforms.

  • Maintain timely and accurate inventory records for all technology hardware, software, and consumables.

  • Coordinate audio/visual setup for special events (sometimes outside normal working hours).

  • Other projects/tasks assigned by the Director of Technology.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift up to 30 lbs. of computer, network, and AV equipment.

  • Crawl under or around furniture, climb ladders, and reach to install and repair computer, network, and audio/visual equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate degree from accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or similar program desired. Equivalent combination of technical education, certifications and experience may be substituted.

  • 3+ years of helpdesk or technical support experience directly involved in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computing and audio/visual systems.

  • Admin-level knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, and ChromeOS.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt easily and quickly comprehend complex systems.

  • Proven attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to self-direct and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.  Ability to interact with all people professionally, listen, empathize, and maintain a friendly demeanor in all situations.
