Founded by Clara B. Spence in 1892, The Spence School is an independent, college-preparatory day school for girls in Kindergarten through Grade 12, with separate campuses for the Lower and Upper Schools. The Spence School seeks a Campus IT Technician to join the IT Department. This position reports to the Director of IT and provides end-user IT support for the entire Spence School community. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of IT hardware, software, and networking concepts as well as positive attitude and friendly, respectful disposition. This position requires advanced knowledge of Mac OSX and iOS systems, expertise in configuring and maintaining these systems, and a desire to provide a high level of technical assistance to end-users.
 
Technical Responsibilities
  • Advanced hardware and software troubleshooting for Apple Mac (OSX) operating systems, iOS devices, and Mac hardware.
  • Image, configure, and deploy Apple computers and iOS devices
  • Create and deploy policies in our MDM that provide software and configuration settings to all Mac OSX and iOS devices
  • Troubleshoot end-user devices on the network i.e. printers, copiers, VOIP phones
  • Provide professional phone and in-person IT support for all Spence campuses
  • Create, test, and deploy software packages and updates for all Apple devices
  • Migrate user data between devices as needed during hardware refresh periods
  • Maintain inventory of all computer hardware, mobile devices, and any relevant peripherals
  • Create documentation and knowledge articles on best practices both internally for IT Department and entire Spence community
  • Provide general IT support for PC computers and Windows operating system
 
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications
  • Advanced knowledge of for Apple Mac (OSX) operating systems, and Mac hardware
  • Thorough knowledge of imaging concepts and imaging tools like Deploy Studio, SIU
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and PC hardware systems
  • Familiarity with Networking concepts – vLANs, DHCP, IPv4, DNS
  • Thorough understanding of data migration / restore concepts
  • Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT), Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC),
  • CompTIA Certifications – A+, Network+
  • Casper Certifications – CCT, CCA
  • Any relevant IT certifications
