Minimum requirements

  • The position in question is for an IT Technician/ Network Administrator who is required to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 Support.

The individual must be able to:

  • Install, configure and maintain any system hardware or software (Layer 2 VLAN managed Network with PoE Switches and Fibre Optics).
  • Provide daily operations and systems support to all personnel (Students and Staff members alike).
  • Provide daily support and maintenance for all network devices (Windows File Server, Printers, Tablets, Cell phones, Laptops, Access Points, Controllers, Content Filter, VoIP systems).
  • Tracking and record-keeping of all IT related Assets.
  • Active Directory, VLANs, VoIP (PABX), Meru and UniFi systems respectively.
  • Anti-Virus and Firewall management (Content management is pre-configured but needs to be maintained and implemented.)
  • Must be familiar with cable and server cabinet management (crimping, patching etc)

Must have a very good working knowledge of:

  • Windows environment (infrastructure) – VLANs, Switches, Access Points, Patch Panels, VoIP, Fibre Optics, SFPs and Media Converters.
  • Windows OS (windows 7, 8 and 10)
  • Server 2008, Server 2016
  • Office 365, Office Professional 2016
  • Must be ready for a hands-on approach in all aspects of Network including leasing with 3rd party companies and T3 support.

Preference will be given to BEE candidates.
