IT User Support Specialist

 

TMS is looking to support technology users and advance its use of technology in the classroom and in administration. As a result, the school is looking for an individual who wants to be an integral part of our dynamic team and who is both technologically sound and patient and friendly with users. Reporting to the I.T. Supervisor, the User Support Specialist will be responsible for the troubleshooting and resolution of tickets in the Helpdesk system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first level technical support to end users using TMS hardware and software at two campuses, including break-fix, trouble-shooting, diagnosis, repair, and training
  • Support TMS applications including e-mail, Internet access, LMS, SIS, and databases
  • Provide A/V support to users and for events
  • Work with other digital systems including security, mobile communications, and building maintenance
  • Travel between campuses and weekend/after-hours work and on-call support is required

Skills/Experience/Education

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • 2-3 years experience in technical support and customer service
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows 7/8/10, MS Office
  • Knowledge of macOS an asset
  • Understanding of networking concepts
  • Able to work with other staff from diverse backgrounds in identifying and applying appropriate technological solutions
  • A strong end user focus and desire to create satisfied customers
  • Experience in an educational environment is strongly preferred
