St Peter’s College is an independent Anglican Diocesan school for boys and girls from Grade 8 to Grade 12. The school was founded in 1998 to meet the demand for a co-educational high school in northern Sandton. St Peter’s College offers an integrated and relevant South African high school education.

The College seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic intern to develop in this exciting role.

Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate with IT as a subject

  • MCSA: SQL certification

  • Any tertiary Computer Science or IS credits would be an advantage

  • Clearance certificate with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offenders Register.

Job Brief:

  • Media Centre Management:

    • Facilitation in the Project Lab

    • Facilitation of the Collaboration Space and Presentation area

    • Maintenance of Library

    • Managing student printing

  • Systems Administration:

    • Point of Call for Parents with Portal queries

    • Assist students with Log In details across the AD, Office 365, Turnitin, Community Hours SA and Engage platforms

    • Assist with communications distribution

    • Assist Network Administrator with supporting staff

  • Project Management:

  • Run with extra-curricular programmes that enhance the use of Technology at St Peter’s College:

    • Management of Events Site

    • Live Streaming

    • Digital development and incorporation in co-curricular programme

    • Manage online sites during Sports and Cultural Festivals

  • Identify areas where technology can improve the St Peter’s College offering

Key Competencies:

  • Have strong organisational and administrative Skills

  • Have strong communication skills

  • Candidate must have strong computer skills and must be competent in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with 3D printers, Arduino and Raspberry Pies, and film production is necessary and will give candidates an advantage in their application.

  • A passion for technology

  • A creative approach that will help integrate technology into the various programmes, academic and co-curricular, at St Peter’s College

  • Must be prepared to work according to the school’s ethos, specifications and policies

  • Must be prepared to work outside school hours, where necessary

  • Willing to fully participate in opportunities for professional growth;

  • Willingness to participate in the broader life of the College and to contribute positively to the ethos of the College

St Peter’s College offers a monthly stipend to support accommodation and travel expenses as well as covering all study expenses for the intern topped with an exceptional working environment.
