The Advent School is seeking an experienced, collaborative, full time Librarian/Media Specialist for the 2015 – 2016 school year. Duties will include daily operation of the library, oversight of budget and purchasing, maintenance of the Library Blog, and collaboration with classroom teachers. The Librarian/Media Specialist will have dual roles in working with our community of learners: fostering a love of Literature and a familiarity with the function of the Library with our ECC through Third Graders, and engaging our Fourth through Sixth Graders in developing research skills and digital citizenship through proper uses of technology. Top candidates will have an advanced degree in Library and Information Sciences, at least three years of teaching experience in independent schools, and will be excited to engage in the reinvigoration of our Library program, including the utilization of the vast resources in the city of Boston for primary and secondary research opportunities.
