The Library and Technology Specialist will be responsible for the daily operation of the elementary and middle school library program schools, the integration of classroom and instructional technology at all grade levels, and the management and maintenance of the school’s technology infrastructure and equipment including wireless network servers, printers, towers, iPads, and laptops. This will be a full time position reporting to the Head of School and Director of Finance and Operations.

    

Library, Technology, and IT Responsibilities:

 

Instruct library and media classes once-a-week to elementary and middle school students. Plan and teach lessons on children’s literature, information resources, search techniques, and research methods;
Instruct a skills-based technology classes once-a-week to elementary students in the Innovation Lab;
Work with faculty and students to incorporate library, technology, and research skills into classroom curriculum and projects;
Coordinate training activities, helping establish technology policies, and proposing learning objectives for staff as they relate to technology;
Be responsible for daily management of library and media routines, evaluation and selection of library media materials, ordering, and circulation control;
Manage and maintain: school’s technology infrastructure including wireless network, servers, and printers; equipment and software including iPads, laptops, towers, and printers; and administrative technology equipment and software
Coordinate and collaborate with Director of Development and Marketing on website as needed;
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
The successful candidate will be a competent educator and comfortable collaborating with teachers to plan the integration of library and technology into the School’s curriculum as well as comfortable managing and maintaining the technology needs for the entire school.

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in technology and/or library sciences. Completion of a teacher preparation program and/or educational degree a plus.
Demonstrated experience working with an educational technology infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience working directly with elementary and middle school school children and teachers in an educational setting
