Houston Christian High School (HC) is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the Library Media Specialist. (LMS) The Library Media Specialist ensures the school library program is aligned with the mission, vision and goals of HC and is an integral component of the instructional program. This position is responsible for oversight and administration of all library, information, and media resources. As leader in the school community, the LMS serves as an advocate for the school library, creating an environment that encourages the use of educational technology to engage students and improve learning. The Library Media Specialist oversees Library aides, volunteers and student assistants, works in close collaboration with the faculty and campus leaders, and reports to the Educational Technology Director. This is a full-time, exempt position to begin in August 2016.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree or equivalent, degree in library science preferred.
Education degree and teacher certification or equivalent.
Five or more years of classroom teaching experience, secondary experience preferred.
Excellent verbal, visual, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience with integrating technology into the curriculum and research process.
Ability to collaborate and lead other team members.
