Charlotte Latin School is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and flexible Lower School Educational Technology Coordinator who will work alongside teachers and students to inspire and support technology-infused learning. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Lower School colleagues to design, develop, and help deliver Educational Technology initiatives that align to the mission of the School and the needs of the Lower School.

  • Co-teach an average of ten Educational Technology lessons per week in Lower School classrooms. 

  • Coordinate Digital Citizenship education in grades 2-4 and help teachers infuse Digital Citizenship practices into their curricular areas.

  • Provide guidance and training for Lower School faculty in areas including the School’s LMS, iPads, MacBooks, and the Google Suite for Education. 

  • Support Lower School Educational Technology use on a daily basis through:

    • advising, collaborating with, and training of teachers and students, both in and out of the classroom, during regular school hours, 

    • assisting with app and EdTech setups, and 

    • troubleshooting EdTech-related problems. 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of current and future uses of Educational Technology at the Lower School level and advise administration on best EdTech policies and practices.

  • Lead the Lower School in establishing EdTech best practices, modeling effective use of the School’s LMS. 

  • Serve as a member of the K-12 EdTech Department, staying up-to-date on the latest EdTech tools and trends, researching and proposing new technologies that enhance teaching and learning, offering appropriate professional development options for faculty, and functioning as a liaison to the Technology Services Dept. and the Upper and Middle Schools.

  • Comply with School policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s preferred

  • Five plus years of well-rounded experience in education, with at least 3 years in the classroom; ideally with Independent schools at the Lower school level

  • Teaching and working with elementary age students

 

Necessary Skills

  • Patience for working with young learners

  • Expertise in Google applications and iPad technology is vital

  • Pedagogical expertise and comfort leading a class of young learners

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

  • Exceptional project management and execution skills

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Adherence to the highest level of professionalism by demonstrating honesty, integrity, and maturity
