The Blake School seeks to hire an imaginative, caring, and engaging Lower School engineering and programming teacher on our Highcroft campus beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. This is a one-year interim position at 1.0 FTE.

An ideal candidate has a background in teaching computer science fundamentals, computational thinking, engineering and Lego robotics for students in kindergarten through grade 5. This team player makes computer science visible and accessible, particularly to encourage students who are underrepresented in the field. The teacher will work collaboratively with their Blake campus teaching partner to develop innovative and meaningful curriculum and learning experiences with the support of the PK-12 computer science chair.

Committed to creating a faculty culture that supports continuous growth and development, we seek an educator who is reflective, open to feedback and eager for professional collaboration.  Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes our community strong and empowers students to engage productively with those who are different from them.

The search committee will begin reviewing applications on Nov. 19. Blake will typically cover the travel and lodging costs for finalist candidates visiting from out of town.
