National Cathedral School (NCS) announces a search for a Lower School/Middle School Technology Instructor to serve grades 4-8. The position is full-time and begins August 24, 2016. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success teaching technology skills in the elementary/middle years classroom.

Qualified candidates have pertinent teaching experience, a background in working with students on technology skills, as well as experience navigating and developing a technology scope and sequence. The curriculum currently includes media literacy, digital citizenship, coding, robotics, and 3D printing. Responsibilities include: teaching dedicated sections of technology to 4th-8th graders; providing students with technical support; assessing, using, and promoting existing and emerging technologies, and supporting both divisions as a team-oriented faculty member. This position may include teaching a section of Middle School Filmmaking and other extra-curricular programs such as Robotics or Coding. NCS promotes a student-centered pedagogy and a developmentally appropriate use of technology that is grounded in a one-to-one iPad program in the Lower School. ISTE standards support the school’s goal of developing technology skills and computational thinking. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Salaries are competitive and based on experience.
