Mac Network Administrator 1
St. Christopher's School, the largest all-boys school in Virginia and one of the largest and oldest boys' schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks a full-time Mac Network Administrator 1.
Serving approximately 1,000 boys in Grades JK-12 in Richmond, Virginia, St. Christopher's is an Episcopal school committed to cultivating a community that is diverse, inclusive and welcoming. Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Apple ecosystem, including the management and deployment process which includes system administration, hardware and software installation, configuration, updating, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Oversee managed systems which include access control systems, door programming, card deployment, camera systems, phone system, etc.
- Secondary responsibilities include providing support for PC, laptops, desktops and Chromebooks with implementing cyber security measures, imaging, inventory, configuring, upgrading, repairing, troubleshooting, etc.
- Secondary responsibilities include assisting with network administration, firewall, wireless controllers, switches, VMware, etc.
- Cyber initiatives to meet security and compliance requirements.
- Document critical technology assets and system processes.
- Perform a variety of tasks necessary to support the technology needs across campus.
- Perform duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Apple ecosystem 3-5 years of experience.
- Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
- Apple ACMT or ACSA certification preferred.
- Experience with MDM management and server management software such as Jamf, Mosyle or other.
- Fluent knowledge of bash/shell or python scripting.
- Experience managing systems such as access control systems, door programming, card deployment, camera systems, phone system, etc., preferred.
- Working knowledge with network administration, firewalls, wireless controllers, switches, VMware, etc.
- Ability to work independently; i.e., ask for help when needed and take initiative without direct supervision.
- Team player, highly motivated, energetic and hard working with the ability to train and instruct others.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently, efficiently, and with flexibility in an organized manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively, build rapport with people, and work well as part of a large operational team.
