Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Brings ground-breaking tech education to the fingertips of excited kids that are hungry to learn.
  • Connects students with STEM (Science, technology, the arts and math)
  • Fosters technical ways of thinking, design and entrepreneurship skills
  • Leads projects from rudimentary mechanics and electrical engineering to photography
  • Builds basic line-following robot from open source parts
  • Encourages students to build something in a way to facilitate experiential learning
  • Fosters cross-disciplinary inventiveness
  • Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible
  • Observes and evaluates students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
  • Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities
  • Meets with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs
  • Asses student’s performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on regular basis
  • Assigns and corrects homework related to the curriculum
  • Monitors children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing
  • Follows and complies with teaching standards and safety regulations
  • Participates in other developmental programs
  • Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities
  • Performs other duties as many, from time to time by assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications, Experiences and Skills:

 

  • Master’s Degree or above in a related major
  • Computer savvy, builders, and thinker who eager to combine creativity with skills to produce functional, “home-brew” technology and crafts
  • Programming Experience (ex. Python, C/C++, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript)
  • Arduino and basic electronics background
  • Drone enthusiasts
  • Robotics experience (Thymio, VEX, Mindstorm, or related)
  • Blender or similar digital animation technology
  • Patience and flexibility
  • Proficiency at interactive teaching
  • Good team-player attitude and solid communication skills.
