This is an opportunity for an innovative and creative individual to set up the school’s new Makerspace. Our new Makerspace Facilitator will determine materials to be used; make connections in the community for resources; provide support to teachers as they begin utilizing the Makerspace; and organize, manage and maintain the Makerspace.

Note: for a full time position, this position may be combined with Librarian position if applicant possesses appropriate skill set.

Responsibilities include:

1.     Reaching out to and collaborating with teachers regarding the work that is happening in their classrooms

2.     Understanding how to use the materials and technology in the space

3.     Reaching out to donors and area organizations for materials

4.     Helping to plan the experience for students

5.     Keeping the space organized and running smoothly

6.     Maintaining a schedule for the space

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • Three years teaching experience

·      Is resourceful in attitude and action

·      Has an open attitude about growth mindset and possibility

  • Commitment to developmental, multi-cultural, anti-bias education
