Manager II - Information Technology
The Manager II, reports to the Executive Director of IT and is responsible to plan, organize, coordinate and direct day-to-day functions of Learner Support to provide responsive, quality support services to aligned with the goals of the District including technology support services to teachers and staff as well as the management of District-owned computers used by students, teachers, and staff. The Manager II facilitates, in collaboration with an Analyst II, the ongoing planning and operations for the Student Computer Refresh, the Teacher Computer Refresh, and Client Services Delivery.
The Manager II will work with the respective managers and leads responsible for core enterprise infrastructure services, network/telecomm services, and applications maintenance. The Manager II will also work closely with Purchasing/Warehouse, Teacher Librarians and Ed Tech Teachers on Special Assignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and five years increasingly responsible supervisory and/or management experience
- Planning, organization, and direction of business functions within a department
- Computer hardware systems and software applications used by the District
- Ability to plan and prepare a budget
- Oral and written communication
- Principles and practices of leadership and management
- Ability to analyze data and produce effective reports
- Ability to perform problem analysis as well as develop, articulate and implement solutions
Preferences
- Understands large-scale endpoint deployment, configuration, maintenance and support throughout the device life cycle
- Understands technology support service processes, tool sets, and improvement practices.

This past summer, our teams deployed over 12,500 student computers; upgraded over 22,000 student computers; completed the migration to VoIP migrating over 9,000 lines to SIP trunks; deployed a next generation firewall; and worked with teachers and staff on adoption of new solutions like Minecraft and Teams for EDU.
