Job Summary

Auburn University Facilities Management is seeking candidates for the position of Manager, Information Technology. Reporting to Facilities Management Director, Information Technology, this position manages technology operations on behalf of Facilities Management. This position will primarily focus on: 

  1. Designing technology processes, systems, and workflows to support and enhance the mission of Facilities Management and the university 

  2. Coordinating service delivery for all facets of technology operations; working with campus partners to facilitate technology initiatives 

  3. Managing a staff of IT Specialists, who provide end user & system support on behalf of Facilities Management 

  4. Overseeing management of various Facilities Management enterprise systems; ensuring updates are applied, end users are trained, and systems are utilized to maximum extent possible. 

Essential functions include, but are not limited to: Supervises and provides highly complex technical design, implementation, maintenance, system administration, and support of hardware & software; in broad service areas, supervises and provides end-user support through consultation and advising, problem identification and resolution, training, and preparation/maintenance of documentation; develops and maintains policies, procedures, methods and tools for area of responsibility consistent with Auburn University and OIT policies and procedures; provides advice to upper management and has direct responsibility for project and/or unit management, human resources, and budget administration; may provide or coordinate on-call support for designated systems or services. Supervises others with full supervisory responsibility.  

Minimum Qualifications

Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field plus five (5) years' experience in management, project planning, and budgeting. 

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience. 

This position requires knowledge of information technology principles and applications, computer system management methodologies and new technologies.

Desired Qualifications

Desired Qualifications: Significant time will need to be devoted to Facilities enterprise systems, therefore considerable experience with enterprise information systems is desired.
