Job Description

CAPS Research is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT-savvy professional to join our team as a Manager of Information Technology.  The ideal candidate will work well in small teams and be self-driven and confident in managing and developing our technology, applications, and web environment.  The position involves hands-on management, design, implementation, and maintenance across our platforms including Salesforce, Act-On, Qualtrics, Tableau, WordPress and website applications.
 
We are looking for a creative professional with application and web experience that will introduce new technologies, add new features and capabilities to our existing applications, and re-design and develop our website environment.

This position is located off-campus at 309 W. Elliot Rd, Suite 113, Tempe, AZ.  CAPS Research currently resides in the offices of Institute for Supply Management.

 

Essential Duties

  • Implement and provide technical, administration, and operational support to all systems and technology solutions used by CAPS Research.  Current environment includes Salesforce, Act-On, Tableau, Qualtrics, WordPress, .Net and Microsoft-based code, and data interfaces.
  • Effectively use Salesforce to drive system improvements, improve data quality, and leverage functionality.
  • Develop and conduct QA for new releases of applications. Identifies impact to operations. Prepares appropriate system documentation and end-user training material.  Delivers training.
  • Develop new UI components, re-design existing UI components; design and develop webforms, templates, database-driven web pages, web interfaces, new web tools and dynamic areas within web pages. Troubleshoots errors.
  • Provide technical support in the production of multimedia-based layouts, graphics, animation, video and sound.
  • Coordinates with team on technical aspects of CAPS events, which includes preparation of digital presentations and event registration websites.  
  • Advance the design and evolve the data strategy to enhance customer relationship management, affinity, and engagement.  Translate business strategy and vision into a data and website strategies through collaboration with the CAPS team.  
  • Apply strong project management principles and collaboration in the design, development, and implementation of new systems and processes.
  • Evolve technology platforms and data integration as technologies mature.  Identify creative solutions and use appropriate technology to provide most effective results.  
  • Oversees the acquisition and management of IT licenses, maintenance, hosting and consultancy services.  Participates in formulation of annual budget and controls ongoing operating budget.  
  • Supervises daily activities of technical team member.
  • Keeps informed, interprets, and applies pertinent rules, regulations, policies, and procedures set forth by both ASU and Institute for Supply Management

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field AND five years of related experience, which includes three years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce administration, configuration, data structures, reporting/analytics, and optimize for enhanced functionality.
  • Experience with data integrations including Salesforce, Act-On, Tableau, and Qualtrics.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery; preferably with experience in WordPress and .NET.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing automation, preferably Act-On.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of analytics tools, preferably Tableau.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of survey tools, preferably Qualtrics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge  of Microsoft technologies, preferably Office 365 and SQL Server databases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current government regulations and their impact on the privacy and security of information.  
  • Experience in problem solving with the ability to apply strong critical and logical analysis to business scenarios in the context of technology and data architecture.  
  • Experience in working effectively in a team environment subject to changing priorities and time constraints.  
  • Experience in collaborating and being a  team player able to accomplish several tasks and projects with multiple and overlapping deadlines.
  • Experience in work that requires attention to detail, project management, and meeting deadlines.
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written skills for internal and customer-facing interactions.

Days and Schedule: Flexible work schedule required during projects or events that happen outside of normal working hours.
