The Manager, Integrated Security Systems and Technology reports to the Captain, Administrative and Technical Services, and is responsible for managing the Boston College security access control and video system.  The role responsibilities include planning and managing the various security system installations, programming and activations; preparing price quotes; and monitoring project timelines, assisting the Captain with strategic operational and design support for the Department’s physical security and information management systems (i.e. access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV, radios, etc); institute and implement strategic initiatives; and generate management reports.  The position will also assist the Captain with implementing maintenance and training programs for the different systems; and assist in setting policy; and establish strategic initiatives.  Additionally, the Manager will estimate costs and produce quotes for all new security system installations and expansions while interfacing with Information Technology Services, Facilities, Residential Life, Planning Department, outside contractors, and University tenants to coordinate system requirements, resources, and system delivery dates.

Salary Range: $74,750 to $93,450; salary commensurate with relevant experience

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of experience in security system administration, strategic and operations planning, in-service training, management of contract services, security management, and policy development.

Preferred skills include:

  • C-Cure 9000/Victor/Video Edge/Genetech Certification

  • Thorough understanding of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

  • Strong customer service, analytical, written and verbal communication skills

  • Project Management and prior security systems administration experience, including design and installation

  • Understanding of local, state and federal building codes and requirements as it relates to security systems.
