Manager, IT
Manages the information technology for the Eccles Broadcast Center. Implements and maintains policies and goals that support the organization’s IT needs. Ensures proper functioning of the information processing systems and oversees necessary upgrades. Helps business operations groups utilize information systems to improve their efficiency. Ensures network and computer equipment, hardware, and software are updated to meet organizational needs. Maintains competent IT Staff.
Responsibilities
Job duties/responsibilities:
•Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for IT services developed in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
•Conduct research and make recommendations on software and hardware products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
•Understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
•Evaluate and select hardware and software components, for information management systems.
•Sets up, configures, and supports the Eccles Broadcast Center (EBC) internal networks and file, print, desktop and other IT services.
•Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
•Design, test, and document all new or modified systems and services.
•Troubleshoots network and systems performance issues
•Maintains and develops department budget for IT networks and systems supporting multiple departments and allocates cost of resources appropriately.
•Creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan for EBC’ systems and Services.
•Analyze department and user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for services.
•Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
•Work with project managers to ensure thatLANservices meet business requirements for supported departments.
•Monitor servers and network infrastructure and respond to outages.
•Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to the organizations business systems development methodology
•Design, deliver, and provide technical support as necessary.
•Manage and direct department full and part time desktop support staff.
•Mentor and/or provide leadership to other members of the team.
•This position reports to the Associate Director ofUENTechnical Services over Enterprise Operations and Services.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalency and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Preferences
Job/skill preferences:
•Demonstrate Working knowledge of computer operating systems such as Windows 2012, 2008, 2003 server, Linux andUNIX.
•Design and administrate Microsoft Active Directory,SQL, and Web Services
•Experience configuring and managing system with a virtual environment such as VMware.
•Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build systems and services according to needs.
•In-depth technical knowledge of web services, networking, PC, and platform operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, MacOSX, and Linux.
•Familiarity with a variety of Local Area Networks concepts, practices, and procedures.
•Fundamental understanding of Ethernet networking and theOSInetworking model with specific reference to theTCP/IP protocol suite.
•Experience with tier-one applications and services.
•Experience and training in Cisco device configuration and troubleshooting with Cisco Nexus 7K, 5K, 2K, and Catalyst 6500, Cisco series switches, CiscoIOSand Catalyst operating systems.
•Experience configuring and managing CiscoASAfirewalls.
•Sound understanding of ACLs, Ether-channel, trunks, network segmentation,HSRP,VSS,VPC, on the above types of Cisco equipment.
•CiscoCCNAa plus.
•Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
