Job Description

  • Provide technical and project leadership regarding networks, systems expansions, upgrades and validation of computer hardware and software ensuring the most effective use of equipment and human resources. 

  • Provide insight into technical designs to ensure solutions developed are consistent with strategic business plans. 

  • Provide leadership to individuals on team(s) through coaching, feedback, development goals, and performance management. 

  • Prioritize, assign and manage department activities and projects in accordance with the Operations department’s goals and objectives. Adjust hours of work, priorities and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on workload.

Required Skills

  • Expert Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, LDAP, SSL, SSH, VPN, SQL, IDS, IPS

  • 10 years minimum Linux(RHEL/UNIX) Systems Administration. - Certification a plus!

  • 4+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Working experience and implementations using Amazon Web Service (AWS)

  • CI/CD tools (Chef, Ansible, or Puppet, Jenkins, Github, Git, Maven, Docker, Atom).

  • Working experience with application environment monitoring tools.

  • Design and Develop automation scripts (Python, Ruby, Chef, Groovy etc.)

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and AWS Certified SysOps - Associate

  • Scripting experience in any of the following, desired. (Bash, ruby, python, .NET, etc.)

  • Experience with Pager Duty

  • Experience with AWS CloudWatch

  • Experience with Jira

  • Experience with Chef

  • Experience with Confluence

  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM

  • Bachelor's Degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, and Engineering 10 years relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of open-source system management and monitoring tools like Nagios

  • Must have a solid understanding of ITIL, information technology and information security.
