Advertised Summary Job Description Reporting to the Director, Technology Systems, the Manager of Technology System Administration manages and provides hardware and software maintenance, services, training and consultation for campus security systems and department Information Technology Systems. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring system status, assessing application performances, troubleshooting hardware, software and networking problems, and taking corrective and preventive action promptly to maximize accessibility, operability and efficiency of all services provided by Public Safety technology systems. The incumbent will develop and implement operation procedures and policies to enforce the system discipline and ensure that security standards are met. He/She will also analyze trends, anticipate requirements and recommend technology strategies for future planning and system development.  
Working closely with Public Safety Operations and the University IT department, the incumbent will plan, schedule and coordinate all system upgrade and maintenance activities to minimize system outage, service interruption and security risks. 
The incumbent is also responsible to track and document all system configuration changes.  
Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Monitor, service and maintain security technology systems that include Lenel security software application and its hardware components such as intelligent controllers, network video recorders, storage servers, alarm monitoring stations, network video surveillance devices, media converters and etc. 35% 
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network to ensure the system and technology are accessible at all times. 25% 
Deploy, administrate, and support all Public Safety application specific servers 10% Provide desktop support for all Lenel client computers and department computers 20% Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. 10%  
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications 
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent required. Minimum 5 years of related work experience required. Experience managing Windows servers, SQL servers and desktop support experience is preferred . Must be proficient in computer hardware, software and network service, installation and administration. Excellent critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skill. Efficient in verbal and written communications. Must be self motivated, flexible, and be able to function well under stressful working condition with minimal supervision. Advanced knowledge of access control systems and field hardware equipment preferred.
