The Marketing & Digital Media Coordinator will assist the Director of Marketing and Communications in ongoing communications within our school community and to the wider public.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Equally proficient in traditional communication skills (copywriting, editing) as well as technically fluent in new media (photography, video production, social media and graphic design).

  • A passionate storyteller skilled at adapting content to multiple online and offline channels.

  • Flexible and open to change, a strong collaborator and open to contributing to new projects as they arise.

  • Able to divide their time between two campuses, in midtown Toronto and in Vaughan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Weekly school newsletter to staff and parents

  • Collect and organize news items from staff and Parents Association

  • Format and publish the newsletter using Constant Contact

Website

  • Ongoing content updates and blogging (leobaeck.ca)

Marketing Projects

  • Assist with the execution of ongoing marketing projects: from print publications, media outreach, event promotions etc.

  • Assist other departments with their marketing needs and event promotions (Development/Fundraising Department and Admissions Department)

Photography & Video

  • Assist with the ongoing collection and editing of photos and videos (capturing and editing)

Social media

  • Contribute to the school’s social media presence: assist with regular updates to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in journalism, marketing, communications or related field

  • Minimum 2-3 years work experience in a related field

  • Copywriting and copyediting for both offline and online communications

  • Technological fluency – utility with Google apps, Constant Contact, WordPress, Eventbrite and graphic design platforms like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva.

  • Photography + Video (capturing photos, videos and video editing production – an asset)

  • Graphic design skills – an asset

  • Knowledge of and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite – an asset

  • Ability to interact with many constituents and a sociable desire for regular and visible involvement in school life
