HMJDS is located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. The school has its own wing on a larger campus shared with the Sabes Jewish Community Center.

Job Description

We are seeking a Media Center Project Manager to oversee the task of revitalizing our school library. This position would be responsible for executing and managing contributing to an existing multi-phase plan for reorganizing our library. Person must be innovative, have strong organizational skills and experience managing a library collection in an elementary or middle school setting. This project would begin with culling the current collection. This will likely be followed up with the remaining phases of re-cataloging and inventorying the remaining collection. We are looking for an ambitious, self-starter who work well independently and is comfortable managing a team of volunteers.

Required Qualifications:

MLS or equivalent from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent experience

Must have Library Media Specialist Licensure

Experience with library automation software, preferably Alexandria.

Knowledge of current research tools

Extensive knowledge of children’s literature

Desired qualifications:

Knowledge of children’s Jewish literature
