Middle School Coding Teacher/Technology Coordinator

The Village Community School (www.vcsnyc.org) is seeking a Middle School Coding Teacher/Technology Coordinator

Job Description:

Teach coding classes in the middle school - specifically using text based programming languages (ex. python, processing, java script, etc.).
Manage various online academic databases and subscriptions
Troubleshoot, maintain, and support academic services and subscriptions, iOS/Mac hardware and software problems, interactive whiteboards, etc.
Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for staff/students on new LMS as well as other services and subscriptions
Produce and curate digital training resources to increase staff computer literacy and self-sufficiency
Work with faculty to integrate effective technology in support of student learning
Work with the Director of Technology to plan future platform changes and upgrades
Additional Skills:

Thorough knowledge of Mac platforms

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
Ability to adapt and be flexible
The Technology Coordinator is a member of the Tech Department and reports directly to the Director of Technology. As a member of the Tech Department you will work closely with other members of the team to provide technical and special project support as needed.
