The Awty International School seeks a Secondary School Computer Teacher to teach in its Middle School for 2016-2017 school year and beyond.

  • The school is looking for an experienced enthusiastic teacher who interacts with students in a creative manner.
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to and experience teaching in a diverse, multicultural environment. Commitment to participation in school life expected.
  • The Head of the Computer Department position will be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or equivalent in a discipline applicable to the teaching position.
  • At least two years teaching experience in computer technology.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish significant.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of content area in the approved curriculum: programming, robotics, graphics editing, 3D modeling.
  • Capable of teaching multiple grades.

Middle School Computer Teacher Position

  • Each computer class meets two periods per week for 50 minutes.
  • Maximum of 15 students per class.
  • Teach ten middle school computer classes for 20 total hours.
  • Establish at least one tutorial hour per week for students to seek guidance on school work and improving skills.
  • Fulfill one period of cafeteria lunch duty and one period of collegial cover weekly.
  • Manage class website with calendar and syllabus.
  • Communicate effectively with parents.
  • Contribute to school life by attending student events.
  • Collaborates with colleagues on curriculum development.
