University School of Nashville seeks a creative, collaborative, and experienced educator to lead the Middle School in its technology integration. The educational technologist will join a well-established Middle School faculty and school-wide technology team, and report to the Head of Middle School.

Responsibilities include working alongside faculty in grades 5-8 to evaluate and recommend software for use by teachers and students, meeting with teachers to plan and facilitate technology activities to enrich learning, and overseeing the scope and sequence of technology-related skills integrated at each grade level. The educational technologist will also teach 1-2 technology-related classes in the Middle School Electives program, and serve as a primary point of contact between students, teachers, and the school’s technology team in the management of our 1:1 program in grades 5-8.

The successful applicant will have at least a bachelor’s degree in technology, education, or a related field; a master’s in education or a related field is preferred. Teaching experience is a must, and the successful applicant must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task and to work effectively with students and adults of varying learning styles and abilities with technology. Candidates must have a strong desire to work with curious and energetic pre-adolescents, exhibiting a fondness for students as much as technology.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Licensure and/or bachelor's degree in technology, education, or a related field; graduate degree preferred
  • Demonstrated teaching experience and evidence of technology integration expertise
  • Experience with a diverse community in an educational setting
