Annie Wright Schools seeks a Network Administrator to be responsible for overseeing the technology needs of a 700-user K-8 Day School and 9-12 day and boarding school. The position supports both operational needs as well as instructional needs.

The Schools’ technology environment is almost exclusively OS/X and IOS. The infrastructure is Windows 2012 active directory with Exchange 2010. Wireless and internet access play a central part in daily life. Middle and Upper School students each have a laptop computer purchased and supported by the Schools. 100+ students board at the Schools and require a stable network after hours.

Responsibilities include budgeting; purchasing; inventory control; solutions for storage and commerce; network and security solutions; effective collaboration with teachers, administrators and facilities personnel; documentation; organizational compliance; selection of and coordination with third-party vendors; installation and updating of software; management and support for multiple platforms including phone service.

The position requires a flexible understanding of emerging educational and security technologies. The Network Administrator reports directly to the Assistant Head of Schools.

Requirements:
Minimum of five years of successful technology experience, ideally within an educational setting
Bachelor’s degree in a technical area with emphasis on information systems, computer science, technology and / or education. MCSE, VCP or other certifications preferred..
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills: ability to speak and write effectively.
Excellent technical skills
Proven success in interacting effectively with various constituencies.

Servers:
VMWare 6.x
ISCSI SAN (Equallogic)
Windows Server 2012 R2 and earlier
SQL management
Exchange 2010 management
Papercut print services
Networking:
DHCP/DNS
Paessler PRTG monitoring software
Networking with fiber, copper and wireless
Ruckus Wireless with 50 APs
Phones:
Mitel SX-200, IP phones, and voicemail
Security:
Veeam backup
Tape rotation
Kaspersky AV
Palo Alto Networks firewall
