Salary Range: $48,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience

Technology Department Overview: The Technology Department at Boulder Country Day is comprised of a full-time director who supervises the Network Administrator, Integration Specialist and Teaching Faculty that constitute our “Technology Team.”  

 

Network Administrator & IT Assistant Summary: This position is responsible for maintaining the school network and also manages full-time HelpDesk support for faculty, staff, and students. Additional responsibilities include work on various infrastructure and deployment projects as well as maintenance and inventory of hardware and software.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Provide Tier I/II/III HelpDesk support for faculty, staff, and students

  • Maintain HelpDesk ticketing system

  • Maintain campus network  aiming for maximum uptime (requires occasional after-hours and weekend support in response to emergency network outages or special projects) (requires regular remote afterhours network updates)

  • Evaluate network architecture and hardware/software configurations for security vulnerabilities

  • Aid in updating of business continuity and disaster recovery plans

  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of IT inventory, documentation, procedures, manuals, checklists for network installations/configurations/processes, and service records

  • Aid technology director in researching new technology deployments, services, protocols, and standards

  • Support development and implementation of networking projects

  • Install and maintain multi-vendor local area network hardware and software

  • Troubleshoot  complex data network problems associated with corporate applications, databases and software

  • Support & maintain VoIP phone system

  • Participate in events as a member of the school community

  • Perform other responsibilities as appropriate

Education and Experience:  

  • Associates or BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related

  • Work experience in a IT Networking field/environment may be considered in lieu of some education

  • 2-5 years IT experience with a minimum of 2 years network administration experience  2+ years’ experience as lead network administrator in a Windows Server environment preferred

  • Experience in the education industry a plus

Required IT Skills:

  • Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices

  • Experience with data networking, hardware, and diagnostic/monitoring tools

  • Windows 2008 R2 and 2012 server management and system updates

  • Active Directory, DHCP/DNS management, and Group Policy management

  • Firewall configuration, logging, and  management

  • Familiarity with various endpoint security products

  • Microsoft 365 enterprise management

  • Google enterprise management

  • Networking copiers, printers, and other devices

  • Maintaining and configuring VoIP phone and intercom systems

  • Imaging, rebuilding, and data recovery for PC, Chromebook and Kindle

  • Basic in-house hardware repairs (replacing HDD, screens, etc.)

  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of AV equipment (projectors, audio systems,  etc.)

  • Top-notch end-user support

Desired IT Skills:

  • QuickBooks Enterprise

  • Aruba Wireless

  • SQL-based software modules (SQL 2005, 2008, Express)

  • Mobile device management

  • Blackbaud SMS “On” products

  • DyKnow monitoring software

  • Familiarity with innovative educational technologies such as 3D printing, laser cutters, Sphero, robotics, etc
