Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The primary function of the Network and Device Administrator is to manage a MDM system for the deployment and maintenance of mobile devices used by the institution and to assist in supporting and configuring the local and wide area computer network; wired and wireless.  This position will also serve as a general technical support during business hours. This includes: 

 

  • Managing an MDM (JAMF) to provide zero-touch deployment and maintenance of laptops and other mobile devices.
  • Software and device troubleshooting on individual client/user machines.
  • Installation and testing of network servers, operating system software, switches, cabling, and other related network components and equipment.
  • Managing the daily activities of local and wide area network systems, performs diagnostics, schedules preventative maintenance ensuring network systems are operational.
  • Providing guidance and help to teachers/staff to troubleshoot network failures and errors; and diagnoses, isolates, and resolves routine to moderately/highly complex network related problems ensuring timely results and minimal disruption of operations. 
  • Assisting in monitoring, and implementing network security procedures.
  • Performing facility surveys for network communications, layout and location of network components, equipment, cabling, and running wiring.
  • Maintaining records of work completed and in-progress; and update network documentation to record installations, upgrades, configurations, etc. 
  • Possessing excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose/resolve network problems. 
  • Possessing the ability to interpret and apply complex technical manuals and reference materials. 
  • Participating in other relevant technology projects, training, and meetings as a member of the Information, Innovation and Technology team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Network and New Technology.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience in information technology fields required.
  • Must be able to rapidly establish a good working relationship with the community.
  • Physical requirements: The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move and push/pull up to 40 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move and/or balance while standing or climbing up to 25 pounds. 

 

Employment

  • 40-50 hours per week.  Business hours are 7:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, and a shared responsibility of network support which will include some evenings, nights, and/or weekends. 
  • Salary range:($80k-$90k) commensurate with experience, and includes retirement, health and dental benefits.
  • 4 weeks paid vacation with 1 additional week vacation split between spring break or July 4th holidays and 1 additional week vacation over winter break.
  • To start July 1st, 2022 or earlier on mutual agreement.
