Region 14 is looking for an experienced network server administrator.  This position will be responsible for Local Area Network server administration, TxEIS server administration, and state security network compliance.  Skills and an understanding of Cisco UCS, VMware, the Windows server environment, and networking for the education enviroment will be required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Network certification preferred
  • Knowledge and Skills of use of technology in a LAN/WAN environment
  • 5 years experience networking experience preferred -- 2 years minimum networking experience required

TxEIS

  • Disaster Recovery configurations and testing to ensure backups are valid
  • Offsite disaster recovery configurations
  • 3rd party software configurations
  • TxEIS DNS Configuration
  • TxEIS Datacenter
  • TxEIS Active Directory
  • Application Servers
  • SQL Servers
  • Daily Server Monitoring - Early Morning
  • Consultant Support
  • District Staff Support
  • System Optimization
  • Local Backup - Databases
  • Remote Backups - Databases - To TCC

Wide Area Network

  • Internal DNS for WAN
  • External DNS for WAN
  • Network intrusion protection
  • Network virus/malware screening

Communication Skills

  • Demonstrates good communication techniques and utilizes proper communication channels with ESC14 staff and districts.
  • Acts as liaison providing updated information on local, state, and federal levels.
  • Effectively disseminates technology related information to groups or individuals  

Specialized Knowledge

  • Seeks training in professional areas and provides up-to-date information in areas of responsibilities.
  • Recommends and prepares effective in-service and instructional resources for staff and clients.

Personal and Professional Image

  • Maintains self-control and good working relations with other staff or WTTC members when facing problems and frustrations.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, self-motivation and physical appearance toward fulfilling job assignment requirements.

  • Demonstrates leadership in the infusion of technology into the education enviroment.
  • Prepares and inspires initiative among program staff.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary - Dependent on years of combined educational experience, network related experience, and Region 14 pay scale.

  • Official start date: September 1, 2018 
    Additional days prior to September 1, 2018 -negotiable
