Position Summary

PCC is seeking an experienced Network Services Information Technology Manager, who under general direction manages the day-to-day operations of the District's data network. This position is responsible for the management of Network staff as well as the development, recommendation, and administration of policies, procedures, and processes in support of the network. 

Duties include managing the planning, development, installation and operations of network systems by evaluating the current and future needs of PCC in alignment with PCC's mission and strategic initiatives.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position. 
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.

  1. Network certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional(CCNP), Juniper Network Certified Internet Associate - Engineer(JNCIA-ENT), Checkpoint Certified Security Master(CCSM), Aruba Certified Mobility Expert(ACMX) or equivalent.

  2. Demonstrated understanding of enterprise-wide network concepts pertaining to: 

    • Network security

    • Network load-balancing 

    • Next-generation firewall 

    • Wireless

    • Switching/routing 

    • Network virtualization

    • DNS/DHCP

    • Cloud Services

    • Network Resilience

    • Disaster recovery

    • VoIP

  3. Demonstrated knowledge of management and operations of a complex and distributed IT Environment. 

  4. Experience working with technology service providers (including cloud services, ISP, vendor support, professional services, etc.).  

 

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science discipline. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. 

Five years progressively responsible, professional information technology experience related to area of assignment, including two years of supervisory experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have additional years of experience (technical/networking field and management) above the minimum requirement.

Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $67,189 to range mid-point of $82,307. Placement generally will not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. (Full Range is $67,189 to 97,423)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily..
