The Hun School of Princeton seeks a dynamic and creative Network Systems Administrator.

Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Network Systems Administrator will oversee network operations, develop operational objectives and ensure operational plans are aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities will include: 

  • Operational upkeep of virtual server hosts and SAN environment, implementation of software updates on servers, hosts and storage;
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking principles including routing, vlans, network addressing, physical wiring rules and wireless management; 
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment in areas of improvement, depreciation and utilization of campus hardware and software; 
  • Responsible for escalated support tickets and critical network troubleshooting; 
  • Must have the ability to design firewall policies to identify and mitigate potential threats or problems to ensure campus continuity; 
  • Familiarity with Google Apps domain products including Admin, Gmail, Drive, Hangouts, Classroom and Youtube;
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft network framework including Group Policy, object administration, DNS, DHCP, NTP, WINS, SQL and IIS; 
  • Oversight and testing of server and workstation backup strategies. Upkeep of software revisions and periodic testing of restorations; 
  • Familiarity with VOIP technologies and management;
  • Works with Engineers and vendors on product and software updates, consults service delivery and product roadmaps. Prepares strategic plans and budget proposals for projects to present to key stakeholders; 
  • Contributes to functional strategy development;
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered, redesigned and/or pivoted as necessary based on School and department needs. 

A successful candidate will possess:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; advanced degree a plus; 
  • Five to seven years of experience is preferred;
