Trinity Episcopal School seeks a highly qualified technology instructor to teach computer science elective courses to middle school students.

 

Trinity Episcopal School is a progressive, independent day school with approximately 530 students in Kindergarten through eighth grade located in West Lake Hills, close to downtown Austin, Texas.  

This part-time instructor will:

design an innovative curriculum that will inspire new programmers and prepare students for success in future computer programming classes, should they choose to pursue that course;
create a hands-on learning environment and differentiated instruction to accommodate a range of skill levels;
establish core skills and understandings of computer programming while following a STEM-based design process (ask, imagine, plan, create, improve).
 

Qualifications :

 

Fluency in a variety of programming languages and environments, including Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS
Two years of teaching experience, preferably with middle school students, ages 10-14
Strength in communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Ability to provide differentiated instruction to accommodate students at different points on the learning spectrum and with different styles of learning
Knowledge of current computer science topics
 

Reporting: The Middle School Computer Science Teacher reports to the Head of Middle School.
