Part Time Computer Support Specialist

Corlears School, a small New York City independent school located in the lively Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, is seeking a part time, 5 days a week, Computer Support Specialist ready to partner with the community to help grow the school. The Computer Support Specialist is a 12 month position that reports to Assistant Head of School or Head of school. The specialist will maintain and support all aspects of technology within the school setting. Candidates should be interested in working in an early childhood and elementary school setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Configure, oversee and troubleshoot the day-to-day maintenance of printers, projectors, smartboards, computers, iPads and document cameras

· Provide help desk support and training to administrators, faculty, staff, students and or parents

· Participate or lead in faculty and staff technology training sessions

· Provide technical support for a few morning and night events that occur over the course of the academic year

· Deploy, image and replace equipment annually

· Manage consumable parts (ink and toner)

· Install and diagnose printer problems

· Replace hard drives, RAM and other accessories as needed

· Create user training manuals

· Perform a variety of task associated with the installation, management and inventory of technology resources to include laptops, workstations, iPads, cameras, etc

· Develop an environment which encourages the effective use of technology while modeling the appropriate instructional use of technology in the classroom

Qualifications:

· Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to follow through to completion on multiple simultaneous tasks or projects

· Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to support staff on any level of computer knowledge with patience

· Ability to work independently or collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, students and or parents

Technical Skills:

Proficient knowledge and experience providing support for Windows 7, XP, Mac OS X, MS Office Suite, Google Apps for Education.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications. Two-year minimum experience with hands- on help desk support and training. Experience working with technology in an academic environment.
