Sophos Productions is a fast-growing online education prodcution company, focused on creating online education in the Digital Marketing space (and more). We are a start-up, and while our team is still small, we serve big clients.

Sophos Productions provides pre-built or customized online learning programs for corportes and sole traders. We develop online courses in digital marketing, amongst other topics, and customized programs that are ready for individual or company use. We are a women-led, digital-first company, founded by a dynamic team of experienced online educators.

Job Summary:

Sophos Project Managers (PM) are critical to the successful operations of the organization and to the completion of specific projects, of which they typically manage the scope, schedule, quality and resources involved. While some PM duties are fixed and ongoing, these PMs are also assigned to one or more client/projects/initiatives, as Sophos’ business needs develop and evolve constantly depending on company relationships and client deliverables. PMs work in collaboration with multiple other internal team members and also with external client representatives.

PMs are both tactical and strategic, always with an eye to syncing with the overall deadlines and KPIs of Sophos’ business goals. PMs are upheld to a high level of self-management, as well as regular, proactive communication. They are comfortable interacting with individuals of all levels and types of roles, pushing the deliverables forward in a professional, motivating and confident manner. PMs are the experts on their project, they are the go-to person for questions and training on tools and processes for their teams. While they don’t always have the answer, they do know who to ask and how to unblock their teams.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists in the definition of project scope and goals. 
  • Creates long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources.
  • Develops the evaluation method to assess project strengths or to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Serves as main point of contact on a project, to ensure multiple team actions remain in synergy.
  • Regularly communicates status and needs of the project or goal, including flagging critical issues to the appropriate individuals.
  • Ensures quality control of the project (or elevates the issue to the appropriate executive).
  • Continually building out project assets and training on process and tools for the broader team.
  • Ensures understanding of project requirements, project team responsibilities, and tools by all team members.
  • Works across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and other stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • 3-5 years of experience as a project manager

  • Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework 

  • Understanding of agile processes

  • Knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Suite 

  • Working knowledge of Asana, a plus

  • Knowledge of coding/SQL a plus

  • Cost, risk and time management skills

Soft Skills:

  • An agile multi-tasker who can make decisions under pressure who is capable of working in a fast-paced environment with overlapping projects and goal dates

  • A natural collaborator and intuitive problem-solver with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Proactive and dynamic self-starter who knows what to handle on their own, and when to reach out for support or direction

  • Willingness to wear different hats as needed
