Position Summary Information

 

Basic Function

NOVA invites applications for the position of Provost for Information and Engineering Technologies. The Provost will assume a leadership role to position NOVA as the leading information technology community college in the nation as called for in the College’s recently approved strategic plan. The Provost will be a dedicated leader with a strong understanding and appreciation of the community college role and mission, great understanding of current and emerging technology trends and associated education and skill requirements, and a demonstrated record of effective leadership.

NOVA seeks a capable leader who demonstrates a commitment to, and excitement for, community engagement and establishing external partnerships; excellence in teaching; and building strong, collaborative relationships with the Vice President for Workforce Development and the Provosts on each of NOVA’s five comprehensive campuses. The successful candidate will be skilled in management and budgeting, an effective communicator, and a team player with a collaborative leadership style.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position reports to the President and is a member of the NOVA Administrative Council. The Provost is responsible for all academic activities related to curriculum, teaching, outreach, and fiscal management of the information technology and engineering technology degree programs across all the campuses of NOVA. The Provost supervises the Dean of Information and Engineering Technologies and other staff.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned doctorate is required.
