Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for an after school Robotics Coach, to work with a 7-12th grade FIRST Tech Challenge team. The FIRST Tech Challenge coach will have experience leading a FIRST team in either FTC or FRC, and be able to provide Middle and Upper School students opportunities to learn from one another. The coach will facilitate all activities related to team meetings, team communication, team building, and district related competitions throughout the school year.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize and monitor the 2016/2017 Middle and Upper School FTC team
  • Order and maintain all equipment
  • Organize and maintain the student engineering notebook and binder
  • Create a team schedule for design and building (min. two afternoon meetings per week, with more needed during competition weeks)
  • Coordinate parent involvement at competitions
  • Serve as technical support for the FTC team
  • Analyze and evaluate prototypes and robotics systems
  • Facilitate student research, design, and innovation
  • Enforce standards of gracious professionalism, behavior, and production quality
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines of the FTC program
