Gilmour Academy is seeking an Instructional Technologist and Robotics Instructor for its Lower School. This position would be responsible for supporting teachers in grades PreK – 6 with their use of technology in the classroom as well as developing and implementing curriculum in the LEGO Robotics program grades 4 - 6. The position would help develop and implement professional development programming for Lower School faculty. Gilmour Academy is seeking to emphasize an atmosphere of collegial support with the LS Technologist serving as a readily accessible coaching resource for teachers’ growth in instructional strategies. The position involves close coordination with the Upper School Robotics Instructor so little experience with LEGO Robotics is acceptable. Training in LEGO robotics will be made available.

The position requires an analytical, detail oriented yet flexible professional with strong organizational and proactive problem-solving skills. He/she must have exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written, communication, skills and display a collaborative, team-oriented work style. A high degree of professionalism, discretion confidentiality, and strong sense of boundaries is required. Strong classroom management skills are a must.

Extensive teaching experience across grades K – 6 with an emphasis on informed practice

  • Interest and initiative to continue developing teaching methods

  • Demonstrated capacity to learn new software and technically challenging material

  • Experience with both MacOS and Windows platforms

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, a State of Ohio educator license or permanent non-tax certificate and successfully complete a FBI/BCI background check.
