School Database Assistant Coordinator Summary

Notre Dame Preparatory School, an independent, Catholic school for girls in grades 6-12 in Towson, is seeking a candidate for the position of School Database Assistant Coordinator. This 12-month position will work closely with the Information Technology department and directly reports to the School Database Coordinator. It is expected that this position will begin as a part time position and transition into a full time permanent position. A key component of the position will be the ability and flexibility to work closely with all of our campus offices, to keep the data path flowing, to have an understanding of what needs to be tracked and how to access it, and to provide technical assistance as needed.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Work experience should include utilizing Management Database software, with progressively-increasing responsibility in a K-12 environment, Blackbaud experience preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. School Database Assistant Coordinator Job Description

The School Database Assistant Coordinator reports to the School Database Coordinator of Notre Dame Preparatory School and is responsible for implementing and promoting best practices throughout the school’s offices to promote efficiency and accuracy of our internal school databases. This position will support the various users of Blackbaud on campus with their questions, challenges and new initiatives, problem solving and guiding them throughout the system as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position serves as the registrar of all school data and is responsible for maintaining data accuracy and consistency throughout our various administrative systems (Blackbaud Financial Edge, Education Edge, Raisers Edge, Net Community, Net Classroom).

Working with campus offices to data mine, make global changes, accurately run exports, imports and reports.

Maintains data accuracy and consistency throughout our various systems.

Works to set and maintain standards across and throughout our systems.

Assists departments with new initiatives involving Blackbaud.

Trains new users as necessary, and/or arranges training from Blackbaud.

Creates and maintains documentation of processes.

Provide feedback and suggestions for process automation, improvements and efficiencies.

Database Assistant Coordinator will collaborate with Advancement staff to maximize utilization of Raiser’s Edge and uphold and suggest best practices in Raiser’s Edge policies and procedures.

Collaborates with Admissions department staff to maximize utilization of Education Edge and Net Community products and suggest best practices in Education Edge policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned by the School Database Coordinator or Headmistress.

Skills, knowledge and ability must include:

Working knowledge of Blackbaud software products; Financial Edge, Education Edge, Raiser’s Edge, Net Community preferred.

Good overall understanding of and experience using relational databases.

Proficiency with spreadsheets, query generation, and report writing.

Candidates must be able to exercise decisiveness and good judgment in situations requiring the evaluation of information to reach creative solutions.

Ability to integrate cross-functional teams in resolving process concerns and developing new processes.

Good instructional skills for training, documentation, and sharing of information.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in a respectful manner.

Ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in an educational or nonprofit setting.
