Solebury School seeks a qualified and experienced School Information Systems Administrator. This position plays a crucial role in managing and safeguarding the information vital to the school's operations. The primary responsibility for this position is the implementation and management of the Veracross Student Information System (SIS) and ancillary information systems. This individual supports all aspects of database-related tasks and maintenance, while also assisting in the technical support of the department as necessary. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Administer and maintain the Veracross SIS, ensuring smooth operation, security, and data integrity
  • Work closely with various departments to determine and manage their data needs, tailoring the use of the SIS and other database tools to suit, including REACH, Verkada, Operations Hero, Raiser’s Edge and others
  • Regularly review and evaluate database performance, implementing changes and improvements as necessary
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to database management, security, maintenance, and utilization
  • Assist with the selection, installation, and testing of database management system software, related utilities, and tools
  • Provide technical support for database environments, including testing and installation of new applications
  • Regularly liaise with the Network and Systems Manager and IT Support Specialist/AV Technician to ensure cohesive operations and effective resolution of technical issues

 

Qualifications:
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with advanced education or training in information systems, data management or related field
  • Minimum of five years experience in database administration, ideally within an educational environment
  • Deep understanding of database structure principles, experience with Veracross SIS or similar platforms is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience in providing technical support
  • Strong service focus with a commitment to continual service improvement

 

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • On occasion, exert up to 30 pounds of force to move, transport, push, pull, reach for or otherwise position objects, including computing and telecommunications equipment
  • Able to work both indoors in standard office conditions and climate, which involves stationary work, bending, and moving, as well as outdoors in all climates and conditions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, work under pressure, meet varied deadlines, and interact with a diverse array of people
