Qualifications
1. Must be a person of faith committed to Gospel values. Must understand and support the mission and purpose of a Catholic elementary school.
2. Must have general information technology knowledge and maintenance skills; experience in a school setting preferred.
3. Knowledge of educational software applications preferred.
4. Knowledge of Power School or other student database programs preferred.
5. Must have customer-service orientation and good communication skills; experience interacting with school parents a plus.
6. Professional experience using social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and website management desired.
7. Teaching experience a plus.
8. Must be well-organized and able to initiate and complete tasks independently.
9. Must respect confidentiality of student records.
10. Requires at least three years' proven successful experience in a similar position.

Jub Duties -- Daily
1. Maintain the school database and grade programs. Responsible for maintaining students' grades on our server.
2. Troubleshoot all electronic and technical problems, coordinating with the Director of Information Technology.
3. Manage iPad/Macbook Air Program.
4. Maintain the school website. Enter News items and send out emails to the St. James community as needed.
5. Maintain Software (ActivInspire, Microsoft Office, and Power School).
6. Train teachers in how to use the software, especially if new versions are installed.
7. Answer day to day "how do I do this" questions - call tech support if needed.
8. Maintain the permanent record files for all students, updating them at least each year, and send complete records to schools for students who transfer.
9. Maintain Hardware (all electronics including computers, monitors, ActivBoards, projectors, copiers, printers, servers, wiring) with help from the Director of Information Technology.
10. Serve as liaison between Diocese and school for Power School.
Weekly
• Send weekly St. James Notes - update the website as needed.
Monthly
• Send monthly copier counts to all staff.
Seasonally
1. Responsible for all report cards. Review grades and try to identify students who need more Resource help. Coordinate with Resource to make sure they do not drop through the cracks.
2. Set up and maintain teacher and staff accounts for computers, emails, copiers.
3. Train teachers in Power School, Microsoft Office, ActivInspire, and E-Mail.
4. Coordinate Technology Certification for teachers.
5. Maintain 8th grade records - including Back to School Night presentation, coordinating and sending teacher recommendations and transcripts, keeping track of where students have applied, been accepted and attend. Be the liaison between high schools and St. James.
6. Math classes - coordinate the teachers, attend meetings, send out final letters. Make sure all students get registered for the correct math class and that all teacher and student schedules work out. Coordinate with Math teachers throughout the year for proper placement of students (some may drop down and require new schedules).
7. Schedules for teachers - make sure the required minutes are correct. Try to keep class sizes about the same with all grade partners. In the upper grades make sure the placement of the advanced Math classes results in the lowest possible class sizes for all sections.
8. Student schedules - register all students for all classes, type Excel spreadsheet schedules for all 7th and 8th grade students.
9. Help Religious Ed department with their database (now on Excel).
10. Attend Diocesan Tech Coordinator's Meetings (4 times per school year). We hosted in September 2011 so not due to host for a while.
11. Run report cards for NJHS. Help with any grade issues.
12. Update teacher computers for new versions of ActivInspire for the Activboards.
13. At least once a year update all teacher computers with Windows updates, Adobe reader, Adobe Flash, Java. Do a comprehensive cleaning at this time.
