Senior Database Administrator and Systems Programmer

Reports To: Technology Director
Department: Information Services

Summary:
This person oversees all databases in the school and is in charge of information retrieval and maintaining data integrity across all databases. This person is also in charge of developing new workflows, implementing long term database changes, and overseeing the introduction of new database products and technologies.

Duties:
- Update, supervise and troubleshoot the following databases: Education Edge, Financial Edge, Raisers Edge, Blackbaud K-12 (“On” products), Blackboard Connect, Ravenna, Magnus Health, Rediker, Paychex, Google Docs, Active Directory, and Follett Library.
- Be a designated school contact for vendors of each of the products named above.
- Update and support all in-house Microsoft Access databases which include databases for transcripts, summer grades, after-school programs, middle school interims grades and weekly reports, and summer personnel.
- Troubleshoot existing Sharepoint forms and work with departments to develop new forms and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce paper processes at the school.
- Supervise all database backups.
- Supervise and support other database users as needed.
- Provide or arrange database training as needed.
- Keep an accurate count of constituents (alumni, parents, students, grandparents, employees etc.) in the various databases.
- Perform monthly database audits to check for errors and inconsistencies in the databases.
- Assist in resolving data anomalies including merging duplicate records and deleting orphan records.
- Create, update and run reports as required/requested.
- Lead regular discussions with principal database users and plan all database changes and transitions.
- Lead annual data cleanup projects.
- Assist users with archiving school documents.

Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines consistently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Blackbaud Products (Education Edge, Financial Edge, Raisers Edge, Blackbaud K-12), Crystal Reports, SQL Server, and Active Directory.
- At least 5 years experience in a leadership role working with Blackbaud products.
