ColumbiaDoctors is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the northeast and is affiliated with world renowned Columbia University Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. ColumbiaDoctors is currently looking for a Senior Director for Information Technology to work in its central business office located in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

The Senior Director, I.T. will provide leadership, vision, collaboration and architectural guidance in creating and maintaining a data analytics platform that meets the analytical and reporting needs of ColumbiaDoctors in a rapidly evolving and complex healthcare marketplace. The Senior Director will report to the CIO and work closely with the Chief Medical Information Officer, Revenue Operations, Clinical Operations and the Quality Department to ensure the analytics platform provides the current and future informational needs for all constituencies across Columbia University. While managing the technical and analytics team, the Senior Director is responsible for the day to day operations of the analytics platform including vendor management as well as the production of scheduled reporting and to ensure that data feeds to the platform (ETL and others) are complete and accurate in all respects. In addition to the day to day operations, the Senior Director is also responsible for the future direction and vision needed to anticipate and respond to emerging healthcare trends. The Senior Director will also create an environment where emergent and ad hoc requests are quickly addressed to meet the needs of the user community especially as it relates to Key Performance and Operating Indicators (KPI/KOI) that relate to the financial and clinical performance of ColumbiaDoctors.

The Senior Director will also be responsible for data analytics project planning and project execution and will present the warehouse status to FPO leadership as needed. As a key member of the FPO CDIS leadership team, the Senior Director may be called on to participate in projects that span multiple constituencies at Columbia University and Columbia Medical Center. The Director must embody a "can do" attitude with a proven track record of solving complex problems with simple solutions whenever possible.  

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus seven years of related experience.  
1. BA/BS in Informatics, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field required.
2. Extensive experience with healthcare financial and clinical data warehouse creation and support.
3. Extensive experience with IBM Cognos web based applications.
4. Minimum of five years successfully managing data analytics and data warehouse teams.
5. Experience with Practice Management and Clinical computer systems and the ETL process.
6. Knowledge of healthcare financial Key Performance and Operational Indicators (KPI/KOI).
7. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. This position requires the ability to interact positively, constructively and effectively with employees and professional staff. Must be a motivated individual with a positive and exceptional work ethic. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required as is the ability to educate all levels of professional staff on the data analytics platform and its capabilities.  
 
1. Experience with GE Centricity Business (IDX) and Allscripts Enterprise EHR applications and database software in the healthcare environment.
2. Experience working in a large academic medical center.
3. Master's Degree or advanced study in Healthcare, Informatics or Information Technology.
4. Prior experience with Cognos support, maintenance and upgrades.
5. Successful rollout of distributed dashboards and reports using industry leading tools and applications.
6. Experience with or knowledge of OMOP Common Data Model.
