Northwest seeks a Senior Network Administrator who is responsible for planning, designing, monitoring, supporting, and integrating enterprise network systems. They are also occasionally called upon to provide direction to the other members of the IT team. The Senior Network Administrator makes decisions and takes action to help ensure the stability of the network infrastructure.

Essential Functions:
This role will assist in providing technology support (in-person, electronically, or by phone) and consultation to faculty, students, and partners, including computer, audiovisual, mobility, telephony, network connectivity, and various software applications
Installs, manages, and supports all campus technology equipment and resources including, but not limited to, VMware environment, Windows Server, Nimble SAN, Juniper switches, Fortigate firewalls, Mist Wi-Fi, and Mitel VoIP telephony
Monitors and improves systems, applications, and network security
Plans and coordinates installations and upgrades of software and hardware
Coordinates with vendors to troubleshoot and rectify applications, systems and network issues
Works in coordination with the IT director and the rest of the IT staff on-site to take care of crisis situations as they arise
Cultivates positive working relationships with colleagues
Works with campus IT staff to support classroom computing needs

 

Minimum Qualifications:

All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the schools mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 3 or more years of system and network administration support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Experience with SaaS systems such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace as well as a other software applications for both productivity and collaboration
The position requires excellent problem solving and analytical skills including a logical and structured approach to troubleshooting and decision making with an emphasis on superior customer service
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals
The Network Administrator must be adept and passionate about learning new technologies and services

Salary is highly competitive with top independent schools in the region and commensurate with education and experience.
