Phillips Academy seeks a Senior Systems Administrator in the Office of Information Technology. This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, operations and security of the Academy’s server infrastructure, including physical servers, virtual machines, data storage, monitoring tools, disaster recovery utilities and other applications (on-premise and cloud-based). As a member of the Network and Systems Services (NSS) team, this individual will be responsible for collaborating with other members of the NSS group to implement system provisioning and maintenance practices that are consistent with industry best practices and Academy’s goals. The Senior Systems Administrator will act as a resource for technology-based projects and tasks touching multiple functional and technical areas. This individual is responsible for working directly with other groups within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), other departments within the Institution and external venders to successfully complete tasks, projects and technology initiatives. This position will be required to spear head technology R&D efforts with a focus on functionality, security, usability, and environment stability.

This individual will be responsible for the supporting the following environment: 4 on-premise data centers, 150 plus physical/virtual servers (Windows/Linux), VMware virtual infrastructure (8 node cluster), Dell/EMC Storage Area Network, Active Directory environment with approximately 3000 users, Office 365/Exchange, ADFS (SSO), Azure, SQL, and Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. A minimum of five years of previous system administration experience in an enterprise environment is required. Relevant Technical Certifications a plus (MCSA, MCSE, Microsoft Azure Administrator and or others)
